Introduction
The employees of Ganglion work hard everyday like you and I. They ride the train to the office to brainstorm concepts, make presentations, and work out the last details of secret campaigns, in order to win the approval of their bosses and finance officers. They take their jobs very seriously, for Ganglion is the sole provider of large scale fear and mayhem for the citizens of Tokyo. Why? That's their mission statement. And someday, the world!
You may have heard of some of the best known operations Ganglion has executed, with varied success, such as the TOKYO CEDAR POLLEN PROJECT, WET FEET PROJECT, and CUT THE TOKYO TOWER PROJECT. These very successfully seized fear and attention citywide. However, in the hearts of the citizens, as sure as their fear, is their confidence that the hero of justice, HOPEMAN, will appear and save the city from these operations.
HOPEMAN is loosely affiliated with the JPC (Japan Peace Center), and a parachutist with the National Police Agency. These are some serious connections, so it's well known that, though it's usually a close call, HOPEMAN will always win. Ganglion then, well understood as evil, is the official perennial loser.
As these organizations are run in a rather militaristic ranking system, the orders of the bosses are absolute. The employees of Ganglion keep their chins up and complete their missions in spite of their poor success record, and slim paychecks. They have families to support! And after all, with the recession and all, finding new job would not be easy.
After a long day of trying to summon enough morale to meet the production schedule of the upcoming Ganglion project, they sometimes stop by the street-side sake pub to wind down before going home. There they complain about the latest office episode, talk about their family, worry about their future, and count their blessings. The next morning they leave their home, years left on the mortgage, catch the 6:15, standing room only, grip the strap with a yawn and get jostled by the other Japanese Salarymen on the long commute back to the office. Back to Ganglion. Back to conquer the world.
